Spilt milk

Last night I remembered the Swahili proverb, “Maziwa yakimwagika, hayazoleki.” Loosely translated, this proverb would say, “Milk that has already spilt cannot be scooped back into the cup.” The English equivalent of this is “It’s no use crying over spilt milk.” I think the Swahili proverb wins for colorfulness.
